They were OK. Just the traction and then the support didn't seem too great for my first impressions when I first wore it. But, other than that, yeah, they look super dope. They're very comfortable and I'm very surprised at the weight and the cushion from this shoe.

This is the boldest thing I've ever seen in performance basketball.

I'm super excited to play in these shoes. These are super unique.

In 2018, The Three Stripes is pushing the limits of what’s possible in performance footwear with the launch of the Adidas N3xt L3v3l. What started as a 4-D printed concept, the brand has now officially released their first laceless basketball shoe.

“We wanted to showcase what could be the future of Adidas Basketball,” Adidas Basketball Senior Director of Footwear Rashad Williams explains. “With that, we needed to look at every element of a basketball shoe and think through how we could do things differently, but still deliver a product that performs at all levels of the game.”

Cushion. Equipped with Adidas’ new Lightstrike foam, the N3xt L3v3l’s midsole is designed to deliver resilient cushioning that will last all game long. The all-new Lightstirke midsole provides non-stop comfort without the added weight.

“Typically, with some foam midsoles, in order for them to achieve a light weight, comfort is sacrificed and there becomes a chance the foam will ‘pack out’ or feel hard over time,” Adidas senior Manager for Advanced Concepts Janette Atkins explains. “Lightstrike still provides all the step-in comfort that our athletes are asking for, while still being extremely lightweight.”

Traction. Similar to the Adidas Harden Vol. 3, the Adidas N3xt L3v3l features an aggressive herringbone traction pattern for superior on-court grip. The herringbone outsole offers additional grip when performing cuts and pivots.

Length and Width. According to reports, the N3xt L3v3l runs true to size. However, wide-footers are warned that these slip-on basketball shoes run narrow and feel very tight.

Lockdown. Despite its laceless build, these Adidas basketball shoes deliver a locked-in fit with its sloped Primeknit upper and sculpted TPU banking barrier.

The sloped Primeknit upper is engineered to create a snug fit that enhances movement. A TPU banking barrier provides increased lateral support during quick changes of direction.

With a series of technical innovations, Adidas reimagines both style and performance. The Adidas N3xt L3v3l boasts a laceless Primeknit upper and a new midsole cushioning technology.

The full Primeknit textile upper delivers ultimate lockdown with its areas of stretch and support. Adidas’ new Lightstrike foam provides athletes with improved step-in comfort as they run up and down the court.

The N3xt L3v3l’s daringly simple design was born out of Adida’s Brooklyn Farm. “With N3XT L3V3L, we took fundamental insights to create an icon for the future that will inspire younger generations to play,” Adidas Brooklyn Farm Creative Director Denis Dekovic explains. “That emotional response from the kid is what we design for.”

Styled by Adidas Brookly Farm designer Nick Daiber, the Adidas N3xt L3v3l boasts a sleek laceless silhouette that sets the tone for the future of Adidas basketball. The Farm’s 11222 zip code is displayed on the heel while an oversized Three Stripes logo is placed on the medial side.

The Adidas N3xt L3v3l arrives in Core Black/Cloud White/Core Black. Currently, only one colorway is available. We’ll provide an updated list once more hues are made available.
