The Nike Air Max 270 Bowfin is available in men’s sizing only. Women can just subtract 1.5 from their standard sizing if they wish to cop a pair.

Equipped with stretchy toggle lacing and non-traditional eye stays that are customizable, wearers of the men’s Air Max 270 Bowfin sneakers may effortlessly loosen or tighten the shoe according to their preference. Heel and tongue pull tabs are also in place for easy on and off while a cleatie-cut collar resembling water moccasins allows for snug-fitting that hugs the feet.

With a design inspired by trail shoes and water moccasins, the Nike Air Max 270 Bowfin is aesthetically attractive to the eyes as it is on feet. With toggle laces and non-traditional eye stays that crisscross the upper, the Air Max 270 Bowfin men’s and women’s kicks are a delicate balance of textile, mesh, leather, and rubber materials that are rugged enough for the fall and winter season. An added strength of this particular variant of the Air Max 270 is the contrasting colors that make the shoes stand out in the crowd.

As one of the first Air Max shoes to be marketed as lifestyle sneakers, the Nike Air Max 270 Bowfin works well with casual outfits, especially in the fall and winter months. The chunky midsoles and visible air unit at the back are also trendy enough without being overbearing for non-hype beasts.  The choices of colors are also on point that it pops out from one’s outfit.

Styling options for the Nike Air Max 270 Bowfin are plentiful. Men may opt wearing ankle or tapered pants or joggers and track pants for their bottoms. The sneaker also goes well with shorts and relaxed fit shirts, pullovers, sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets as tops. Women may wear leggings, joggers, jeans, and shorts as bottoms and tanks, hoodies, and jackets as tops. For many of its wearers, the street-smart athleisure look of the Air Max 270 Bowfin sneakers is natural to pull off and could easily be the all-weather sneaker of choice for the fall and winter season.

The rugged-looking  Nike Air Max 270 Bowfin is a trail sneaker equipped with features that deliver maximum comfort and durability. With quality textile, mesh, and synthetic leather materials in the upper, the shoe becomes a perfect winter-ready kick that can withstand a few splashes of rain, keep the feet warm and dry, and protect the feet during the fall and winter seasons. With the chunky midsole encapsulating the visible 270-degree air unit (Nike’s largest Max Air unit to date), the mid-top kicks are geared for a comfortable walk along the trail with rugged track patterns on its outsole for an enhanced grip and traction.

A few months before the official drop of the Air Max 270 during Air Max Day 2018, several sneaker sites were already hinting on a new lifestyle silhouette that will leave many of the brand’s fanatics in awe. Air Max sneaker fanatics were indeed given a treat when Nike’s largest air cushioning unit at 270-degrees and a non-traditional toggle lacing system was used in the Air Max 270 sneaker’s design. The design, of course, was inspired by the Air Max 180  for the big air unit and Air Max 93 for the lacing system.

At the onset of the design conceptualization, skeptics thought that introducing an even larger air unit is next to impossible. However, Nike’s Air Max team led by its Senior Creative Director Dylan Raasch, after a series of product testing and conceptualization, produced a blow-molded Air Max unit that is some 32-millimeters thick at the heel inspired by the Air Max 93.

The Air Max 270 was finally released on February 1, 2018, and was released into several colorways and materials such as Flyknit and premium leather in the following months. The Nike Air Max 270 air unit was also the first Nike Air Max to be designed for lifestyle instead of being the usual running shoe.

                 Trail sneaker

Just in time for the fall and winter season, Nike released on September 2018 a version with rugged track sole, speed toggle lacing system, and durable upper materials which they called the Nike Air Max 270 Bowfin. The top is constructed with a mix of textile, synthetic leather, and mesh with a non-traditional toggle lacing system and eyestays. The design, although slept on by some hype beasts, was a huge hit for those looking for trail-ready sneakers that are ready to battle it out with the elements.

On its initial release, the Nike Air Max 270 Bowfin was offered in black/phantom-desert-cone or the “Desert Cone” and black/phantom-photo blue or “Sprite” colorways. The following month in October 2018, the $160 sneaker was also released in the original ACG colorway with a combination of pink and purple with golden yellow accents. Also released that same month are the university red/light citron and the triple black colorways.

                 Maharishi collaboration

In November 2018, the Beaverton-based footwear brand also collaborated with the London-based Maharishi store, a retailer of environment-friendly and utilitarian designed streetwear. The result of the collaboration was officially released on December 10, 2018, with a military-inspired design for the Maharishi x Air Max 270 Bowfin. The practical design used materials such as leather, wool, and lightweight, ripstop fabrics in the upper. This collaborative model also used the Maharishi original pattern called the Bonsai forest in a camouflage-like execution.

  • The thick midsole and 270-degree air cushioning unit at the back adds a boost in height.
  • Nike branding tags at the tongue and heel and at the back and bottom outsole provide color contrast accents.
  • Stitched Nike Swoosh logo at the front adds a minimalist accent to the rugged trail sneaker.
