The Reebok Lifter PR is a weightlifting shoe designed to help fitness aficionados break personal records, hence, the “PR” in its title. The heel has just enough height to make wearers squat lower, but it’s not so high as to cause the foot to slide forward unintentionally.

The Lifter PR features a rubber outsole. The compound is made to be hard-wearing to withstand rigorous training sessions. It is also virtually flat which is essential for providing stability. It also offers traction to keep the foot planted during workouts.

Diamond patterned grooves are found in the forefoot area. They ensure adequate flexibility for the foot.

A POWERBAX thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) plate lines the length of the midsole. TPU is a type of plastic that is durable and flexible. This structure keeps the shoe stable during weightlifting sessions and squats.

Another layer of rubber lies between the TPU plate and the heel section of the outsole. This rubber wedge gives the heel enough height at the back to allow for lower squats. It is sturdy, and it does not get compressed easily, thus delivering a stable base for lifting weights.

The Reebok Lifter PR features a combination of various materials that deliver a comfortable fit and support for the foot.

A full grain leather material makes up most of the upper. Leather provides enough rigidity to allow it to maintain its form and keep the foot supported. Perforations are present on the toe box to help in the dissipation of heat.

This shoe features a lightly padded and breathable mesh tongue. It prevents the inside from getting too hot, maintaining a comfortable environment.

The U-FORM+ Thermo TPU wrap in the midfoot area sets the Lifter PR apart from other weightlifting shoes. This material is heat activated. The midfoot wrap is heated for two minutes using a hairdryer. While still hot, the user puts on the shoe and laces it up to the desired tightness. It takes another two minutes for the material to completely cool down and conform to the shape of the foot. The wearer must remain still during the cooling down process so as not to disrupt the shrinking procedure. According to Reebok, the heat-shrink operation can be performed many times without losing its effectiveness.

The Lifter PR has a low-cut design that gives the ankles the freedom to move. The lightly padded collar keeps the back of the foot from slipping out while also preventing the Achilles from becoming irritated.

An anti-friction fabric lines the inside of the Lifter PR. This material makes the inside smooth, allowing the foot to glide on or off quickly. This textile also reduces moisture and heat build-up, thus keeping the foot fresh.

It features a traditional lacing system with round laces to secure the top of the foot. A hook-and-loop closure makes sure that the shoelaces won’t get untied during workouts. This structure heightens lateral support and foot stability.
