The Reebok Speed TR Flexweave is a versatile trainer which is ready for a high-impact action. Be it a cardio session, a gym workout, a speed training, or a CrossFit WOD, the shoe is equipped to withstand it all.

The brand took the well-loved CrossFit Speed TR 2.0 trainer and refreshed it with the proprietary Flexweave upper material. It is comprised of soft fibers that are interlocked by strong figure-eight woven filaments. This textile is meant to be hard-wearing and supportive yet lightweight and flexible.

The Speed TR Flexweave employs durable rubber with a jagged pattern. Its sharp, oblong lugs are placed at different angles in different sections of the outsole. The purpose of this design is to deliver grip no matter what course the foot takes.

The front portion of the rubber protrudes up, forming a protective layer for the toes. It prevents the wearer from getting hurt during exercises like burpees or when accidentally bumping into hard objects like gym equipment.

The larger sections in the midfoot part of the unit are covered in vertical lugs. They extend up to cover the midsole as well as part of the RopePro guard. This technology creates traction when the wearer climbs the rope and protects the sole from tearing and burning on the descent.

The MetaSplit flex grooves ensure the flexibility of the platform. It is a combination of deep, strategically-placed horizontal and vertical cuts which make the unit bend with the foot. The densest concentration of these flex grooves is found in the forefoot which has to be especially pliable for cross-training workouts.

A soft EVA compound makes up the midsole of the Reebok Speed TR Flexweave. It is a responsive foam material which protects the foot against impact while helping it achieve an energized rebound.

The heel-to-toe differential in this model is 3 mm which makes the foot rest almost flat on the sole. Partnered with the low-profile midsole, this disposition helps the wearer feel more grounded and steady.

A lightweight yet sturdy TPU Kip Klip encases the back portion of the sole. Its purpose is to shield the heel against the abrasion caused by exercises like wall push-ups.

As the name suggests, the trainer utilizes one of the brand’s newly developed materials called the Flexweave to wrap the foot. It consists of two types of fiber, a soft one and a firm wire-like one.

The firmer thread intertwines with the softer one with the help of a figure-eight weave. This technology forms a smooth textile which is meant to be lightweight and flexible yet supportive and hard-wearing. The same material can be found in the upper unit of the renowned Reebok Nano 8 Flexweave.

The Flexweave is reinforced with synthetic overlays in the rearfoot and the eyestay as these areas are most subject to abrasion. An additional underlay is also placed in the toe area for extra comfort and protection.

The fit is regulated by a traditional lace-up closure. The lightly padded tongue and collar also make sure that the footwear is securely fixed on the wearer.
